Here are a few links for some of the best Maple Leaf and NHL articles from around the web for the week of November 19, 2012:
“Nazem Kadri Had A Good Weekend: Fancystats“ by Cam Charron at The Leafs Nation.
Charron explains that although Kadri was struggling to put up points earlier in the season, he was still playing well and getting chances and was generally unlucky.
“Exclusive: NHL commissioner discusses lockout issues“ from Gary Lawless at the Winnipeg Free Press.
Everything that is being reported to the media during this lockout is posturing and needs to be taken with a grain of salt and this is no different. But an exclusive interview with the commissioner of the NHL is always worth a read.
“2012-13 NHL Central Scouting Rankings“ from TSN.
Considering that there might not be a season, the Maple Leafs could be drafting very high next year.
“If you can play, you can play“ by Tyler Dellow at mc79hockey.
Interesting look at defensemen and how they develop in the NHL.
“NHLPA Memo Outlining The Union’s Nov. 21 CBA Proposal“ courtesy of TSN.
The Union got off their stance of a fixed value for next season and provided a proposal based on the owner’s framework. Although there is plenty of pessimism, this should be the frame work for constructive negotiation and ultimately a deal.
