Leafs 2010-11 Season Highlight Tributes

With the playoffs in full swing, and the Leafs not participating yet again, I’ve been a bit depressed. Thankfully, there are individuals out there with far more time on their hands than me, and there are already a number of highlight videos chronicling the Leafs’ latest season. In the coming months, there will be plenty of time to discuss all that went on this season, and all that will or won’t happen in the coming offseason. With over half the league still in action, though, I’m going to take the next few days to sift through some of the best moments of this season. Be sure to check back for Phil Kessel’s top goals of the year, the best hits, fights and saves of the year, and maybe a whole post of OMGrabovski.

Before I jump into those however, I wanted to give a quick shoutout to our friends over at Stadium Journey, who recently featured some of the Leafs’ affiliates’ arenas. Stadium Journey features in-depth and informative looks at just about any arena and stadium where sports are played these days, and it’s definitely worth the read. Check out all their writeups on the Ricoh Coliseum (home of the Marlies) and the Sovereign Center (home of the Reading Royals in the ECHL), as well as the Air Canada Centre.

Hands down, the best video tribute to the Leafs’ season so far is the following, titled “Progress,” since it does a good job of showing both the highs and lows that we endured this season.

Another one – this one a little shorter if you don’t have 12 minutes to watch the one above – that shows off the reasons that Leaf fans can have some legitimate hope for the future after the grit this team showed down the stretch.

Finally, a highlight reel set to Al Pacino’s famous speech from “Any Given Sunday.” Need I say more?
